Creekside's Children's Ministry exists to teach kids and equip their parents to teach them about the greatness of God so they will have confidence in His salvation, worship Him for His character and His works, obey His commandments out of love, and joyfully tell others about Him. (Psalm 78:2-7)

We are guided by the following values:

We want to produce lifelong disciples, not just well-behaved kids.
We believe that true obedience stems from a love and fear of God and this only comes when one understands God's character. Our goal is not to produce good behavior in children, but to help them respect and love the living God. Although we encourage kids to apply the Bible to their lives, we believe that the most important thing for them to understand at this age is God's character as described in His Word. When kids love God and trust Him because of who He is, obedience will naturally follow.

We teach the Bible in a clear, accurate, and exciting manner.
The Bible tells the most dramatic and exciting story in history and should be taught in a dramatic and exciting way that gets kids interested in Scripture. We teach Bible stories within their historical context and use concrete and age appropriate terminology. For kids to truly understand the story of the Bible, they need to see how it develops from beginning to end, so we teach stories in their chronological order. We want kids to be life-long lovers of the Bible and it is crucial that they gain a positive and accurate understanding of it during childhood.

We embrace a variety of learning styles.
In order to learn, kids need to move, experiment, create, and engage all their senses. We use games, crafts, science experiments, drama, and other projects to teach each week's lesson.

We want all children to feel comfortable and accepted at Creekside.
We refrain from using confusing Christian terminology and never assume that a child knows a Bible story, character, or verse. At the same time, we provide stimulating Bible lessons that will challenge every kid.
