  OUR MISSION

Creekside Community Church exists to make mature, reproducing disciples of Christ, by winning as many people as possible through the preaching and the demonstration of the gospel, by building as many as people as possible into mature Christ-like believers in a loving community of faith, and by sending as many people as possible to serve Christ in their local communities and throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-16, Colossians 1:28-29)

OUR VALUES

Jesus is Creekside’s Leader.
Creekside was begun by Jesus is sustained by Jesus and is being built up by Jesus. He is our
Leader and we look to Him alone to supply the direction and resources we need to accomplish
God's will in this community. Our most important responsibility is to love Him, to worship Him, to
obey Him, to trust Him, and to exalt Him. (Matthew 16:8, 23:8-10)

Creekside is a Family.

The The word the New Testament most often uses for Christians is "brethren." We are first and
foremost a family, and for our church to function properly, it must function as a healthy, loving family. Our relationships with other family members will determine how effective we are in fulfilling our mission in the community. (Acts 4:32, 1 John 4:7, John 17:20-23)

Creekside Exists to Seek the Lost.
Jesus taught that lost people matter to God, and that if we love God, they will matter to us as well. Creekside's mission is to seek and to save the lost; to go to unchurched, irreligious people and to
use any and all means to bring them to Christ. (Matthew 9:12, Mark 1:17, Luke 15:7)

Creekside is Committed to Learning and to Applying the Scriptures.
Jesus said that it is impossible to be His disciple without knowing His word; that we will be shaped
either by our culture or by the Scriptures. Creekside is committed to biblical education; not only in preaching and teaching the Bible in its public services, but in training every Christian to be a vigorous student of the Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 8:31-32, 1 Thessalonians 2:13).

Both Large and Small Group Meetings are Essential for the Spiritual Health of the Church.
While large celebration services provide an opportunity for worship and learning, small groups provide an opportunity for community, congregational care and ministry. Both are necessary for a balanced spiritual life. (Acts 20:20, Proverbs 13:20, 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

Every Christian is a Minister.
While Creekside employs full-time staff, there are no "professional" Christians at Creekside, and no division between clergy or laity. Creekside is a church of ministers. We believe that every Christian has been called and gifted by God for ministry. The staff exist to train the congregation for ministry, and not to do the entire ministry themselves. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Peter 4:10-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13,27)

We Grow by Reproducing.

Our goal is reproduction: disciples reproducing disciples, small groups reproducing small groups, congregations reproducing congregations, and churches reproducing churches. (2 Timothy 2:2, Luke 6:40, 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8)

We Will Advance Only on Our Knees.
A healthy church is a praying church because prayer is the only way we can access the power of God. Knowing that only God can accomplish His work in our community, we are committed to purposeful and prevailing corporate and private intercessory prayer. (Colossians. 4:2-4)

We Need Both to Proclaim Good News and to Be Good News.
Proclaiming the good news of new birth in Christ means following Jesus’ example of preaching and
doing good.. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. “ (Matthew 5:16) “Keep your behavior excellent among the
Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:12). Creekside seeks to do what Jesus would do if He were living in this time and in this community; ministering to the poor, the forgotten, the marginalized, the sick, and the oppressed.
