THE MANGER AND THE
CROSS
Christ Our Mediator.
“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the
man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony
given at the proper time.” - 1 Timothy 2:5-6
What Is Mediator And Why Do We Need One?
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor
and glory forever and ever. Amen.” - 1 Timothy 1:7
“. . .who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable
light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal
dominion! Amen.” - 1 Timothy 6:16
". . .realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person,
but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and
sinners, for the unholy and profane,“ - 1 Timothy 1:9
“. . .even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a
violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in
unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the
faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy
statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.” - 1 Timothy
1:13-15
“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires
all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there
is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus,” - 1 Timothy 2:3-5
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone
who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does
not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was
manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world
so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved
God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the
propitiation for our sins.” - 1 John 4:7-10
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8
Why Do We Need A Human Mediator?
“Therefore, just as through one man sin
entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to
all men, because all sinned - for until the Law sin was in the world,
but sin is not imputed when there
is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over
those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is
a type of Him who was to come.” - Romans 5:12-14
“Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that
He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining
to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” - Hebrews 2:17
“God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might
become the righteousness of God in Him.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21
