FAITH AND REPENTANCE

" . . .how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:20-21)

A. What Is Real Faith?

Knowledge alone isn't faith. (Hebrews 4:2)

Agreement alone isn't faith. (James 2:19)

Faith is a deliberate choice to trust Jesus to save me. (Matt. 11:28-29)

"Come" (John 5:40, 6:35, 37, 7:37)

"Receive" (John 1:12, 5:43, 12:48, Mark 10:15)

B. What Is True Repentance?

Repentance isn't simply feeling sorry for what we have done. (2 Corinthians 7:9-10)

Repentance is turning from sin to Christ. (Mark 1:15, Luke 5:32, 15:7, Isaiah 55:6-7)

C. Can People Accept Jesus As Savior But Not As Lord?

Can we have faith without repentance? (James 2:14-23)

D. Both Faith And Repentance Continue Throughout Life.
