THE HUMANITY OF CHRIST

"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

1. Born Out Of Wedlock In A Barn.

Luke 2:7 "And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

John 8:41 "They said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God."

2. Born To A Despised And Oppressed Race.

Matthew 27:37 "And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, "THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

3. Grew Up In A Bad Neighborhood.

John 1:46 " Nathanael said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?"

4. Average In Appearance.

Isaiah 53:2 "For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him."

5. Poor All His Life.

Matthew 22:15-19 "Then the Pharisees went and plotted together how they might trap Him in what He said. And they sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any. "Tell us then, what do You think? Is it lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?" But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, "Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites? Show Me the coin used for the poll-tax." And they brought Him a denarius."

6. Surrounded By Unattractive Friends And Followers.

Mark 2:16 "When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, "Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?"

7. Subject To Our Limitations.

Hebrews 2:17-18. 4:15 "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. … For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin."

8. An Inmate Of Death Row.
