4TH-5TH GRADE SCOPE AND SEQUENCE:
In 4th and 5th grade, we use use the Children's Discipleship Series by Bill Bright, Joette Whims and Melody Hunskor.

Unit 1: Beginning the Christian Adventure
This unit introduces kids to the thrill of walking with Jesus day by day and includes lessons on how Jesus can help them overcome problems and how they can study the Bible, pray effectively, and win spiritual battles through God’s Spirit.

Unit 2: Discovering Our Awesome God
This unit introduces students to the wonders and awesome nature of our God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - and how to pray biblically. Kids will learn about some of the attributes of God and what they mean to believers.

Unit 3: Growing in God’s Word
This unit introduces kids to the Bible and the story of Jesus. They learn how the story of Jesus is illustrated in the Old Testament, how God has planned for human salvation from creation to the return of Jesus, the King, how the patriarchs, judges, prophets, apostles, and early church fit into the span of history, how they can be sure that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and how to study the Bible on their own.

Unit 4: Building an Active Faith
This unit gives kids in-depth helps for maturing spiritually. Kids learn how they can build their faith through obeying God, giving back part of what they have to Him and sharing their faith with others.
