THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE PROPHETS

"And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?" Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures." (Luke 24:25-27)

1. The Messiah will be a born of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14

2. The Messiah’s will begin His ministry in Galilee. Isaiah 9:1-7

3. The Messiah will make the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk etc. Isaiah 35:5-6.

4. The Messiah will enter Jerusalem riding a donkey. Zechariah 9:9

5. The Messiah will be rejected by His people. Isaiah 53:1-3, Psalm 118: 22-23

6. The Messiah will be betrayed by a friend for 30 pieces of silver. Psalm 41:9, Zechariah 11:11-12

7. The Messiah will be forsaken by His disciples. Zechariah 13:7

8. The Messiah will be accused by false witnesses and will make no defense. Psalm 35:11, Isaiah 53:7.

9. The Messiah will be beaten, mocked, spat upon and ultimately killed.  Isaiah 50:6, 53:5-8.

10. The Messiah will be crucified. Psalm 22:1, 6-8, 14-18

11. The Messiah will be executed with criminals. Isaiah 53:12

12. The Messiah will be given vinegar and gall to drink. Psalm 69:21

13. The Messiah will be buried in a rich man’s tomb. Isaiah 53:9

14. The Messiah will die for our sins. Isaiah 53:4-12

15. The Messiah will rise from the dead. Psalm 16:10-11.

16. The Messiah will return to heaven. Psalm 68:18

17. The Messiah will initiate an everlasting covenant that will include all nations. Isaiah 55:3-4

"Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."
